EB-1A — Green Card for individuals of extraordinary ability

A self-petition for a Green Card with no employer and no PERM — for professionals whose achievements are recognized nationally or internationally. We help assess your chances and build your evidence and individual PR.

What is EB-1A

EB-1A (Extraordinary Ability) is one of the most prestigious US immigration categories. It allows individuals of extraordinary ability in science, the arts, education, business or athletics to obtain a Green Card. Its main advantage is that it is a self-petition: you do not need an employer, a job offer or PERM labor certification.

Who it is for

  • Scientists and researchers with publications and citations
  • Entrepreneurs and senior executives with notable results
  • IT professionals, engineers and product managers with a significant contribution to their field
  • Artists, designers, directors, musicians, athletes and coaches
  • Experts invited to judge, evaluate or speak at industry events

The 10 EB-1A criteria

To qualify for EB-1A, you need either a one-time major internationally recognized achievement (such as a Nobel Prize) or to meet at least 3 of the 10 criteria:

  • National or international awards for excellence in your field
  • Membership in associations that require outstanding achievements
  • Published material about you and your work in professional or major media
  • Participation as a judge of the work of others in your field
  • Original contributions of major significance to your field
  • Authorship of scholarly or professional articles
  • Display of your work at exhibitions or showcases
  • A leading or critical role in distinguished organizations
  • A high salary compared with others in the field
  • Commercial success in the performing arts

Meeting three criteria is only the first step. The USCIS officer then evaluates the case as a whole (final merits): whether you truly belong to the small percentage who have risen to the very top of the field. That is why what matters is not the number of documents but a convincing, coherent story.

How we work on EB-1A

  1. Profile assessment. We honestly identify which criteria you already meet and which need strengthening.
  2. Criteria strategy. We choose the criteria under which your case will be strongest.
  3. Evidence. We structure the evidence so that every document supports a specific criterion.
  4. Individual PR. Publications and materials about you, created specifically for your field — no templates.
  5. Recommendation letters and the package. Letters from experts, a description of your achievements, final review and filing.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an employer or a job offer for EB-1A?

No. EB-1A is a self-petition: you file it yourself, without an employer, a job offer or PERM labor certification.

Can I apply from outside the US?

Yes. The petition can be filed from any country. Once it is approved, the final stage goes through a US consulate (Consular Processing) or, if you are already in the US in lawful status, through Adjustment of Status.

How long does case preparation take?

About 5 months on average from the first consultation to a ready case. Premium Processing — expedited review for an additional government fee — is available for the EB-1A I-140 petition.

Can my family be included?

Yes. Your spouse and unmarried children under 21 can receive Green Cards as family members of the principal applicant.

Do you guarantee approval?

No. The decision is made solely by USCIS. Our job is to honestly assess your chances and make your case as strong as possible.
